Telematics’ Story

Telematics was founded in 1996 as a spin-off of an Israeli communications leader, Tadiran Communication, with the idea to convert Tadiran’s most advanced military communication technology into civilian applications. Over 20 profitable years since and with over 14 million wireless M2M devices installed globally, Telematics Wireless today is a world leader in IoT (Internet of Things) and its most promising application – Smart Cities.

Over the years Telematics perfected its mastery of RF solutions. The company first developed an end-to-end Automatic Vehicle Identification and location (AVI/AVL) system, today deployed and active in Israel, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo, and later developed an entire Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) solution, deployed today in USA, Canada and in Israel. The Company also developed the most advanced Automatic Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system, connecting millions of water meters around the world and which is fully integrated as part of Telematics’ Smart City offering.

Telematics Wireless’ in-depth proficiency of RF technology puts the company in a prominent position as a Smart City leader, based on our streetlight control systems. Unlike other players who offer their single technology, we believe that “One Size Does NOT Fit All”. Hence we developed different solutions for different environments. Our T-Light Galaxy system is a long range, wide area, star network; the T-Light Pro Network is a wide area RF mesh topology network; and our T-Light LORA Network is a low-power, IoT standard star network. These systems are deployed and operational in North America, Europe, Asia and in New Zealand.

Since 2008, Telematics Wireless is a fully owned subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Electronics – ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) Pte Ltd. which is owned by ST Engineering, a public company traded at the Singapore Stock Exchange which is a leading Information Communications Technologies (ICT) solutions provider in the Asia-Pacific region.
